No one should move, talk or stand close to or directly behind the ball or the hole when a player is addressing the ball or making a stroke.

Competitions & Handicap Systems
Stroke:
The score at each hole is entered on the score card, totalled, and the full handicap deducted. The player who completes the round in the lowest nett score will be the winner.
PAR: (Bogey)
To be scored the same as in stroke play, with the exception that the score need not be written in where the score exceeds par (after allowing for handicap stroke). After entering the stroke score on the card the result is marked in the column provided with a “+” for a win, “O” for a half and “–” for a loss. At
the end of the round the plus and minus signs are added and
the net result witten in as so many “up”, “down”, or “all square”. Full handicap is allowed.
Match Play:
In match play the game is played by holes.
A hole is won by the player returning the lowest nett score on that hole.
A hole is halved if both players return the same nett score. The reckoning of holes is kept by the terms; “so many up”, or “all square and so many to play”. A player is “dormie” when there are as many hoes up as there are remaining to play.
A match is won by the player who is leading by a number of holes greater than the number of holes left to play.
A player may concede the match at any time prior to the compltion of the match.
STABLEFORD:
A player uses their full handicap, and to score points on the nett result at each hole; example – a player receiving a stroke on a par 4 scores 4 giving them a nett 3; for this they receive 3 points. A player at a par 4 scoring 5 giving them a nett 4; for this they receive 2 points; a score of 6 on a par 4 giving them a nett 5; for this they receive 1 point; a score of 7 on a par 4 gives them a nett 7 and they receive no points.
Handicap of 1 stroke on a par 4:
Player scores 7 giving them a nett 6 - no points scored
Player scores 6 giving them a nett 5 - 1 points scored
Player scores 5 giving them a nett 4 - 2 points scored
Player scores 4 giving them a nett 3 - 3 points scored
Player scores 3 giving them a nett 2 - 4 points scored
Player scores 2 giving them a nett 1 - 5 points scored
FOUR BALL BEST BALL STABLEFORD / BOGEY:
Scored in exactly the same manner as above except the best scoring ball of the partnership will be credited to the partnership.
FOURSOMES:
Two players play as partners using one ball. The partners strike off alternately from the tee and thereafter strike the ball alternately during play at every hole. Scoring is done as in a stroke round and the total is subject to a deduction of half the partners aggregate handicap. If any player incurs a penalty stroke, it does not alter the rotation of play.
CANADIAN FOURSOMES:
Played as foursomes except that both players hit tee shots at every hole, and afterwards continue with whichever ball they nominate and thereafter strike the ball alternately during play at every hole.
PINEHURST:
Played as foursomes except that both players hit tee shots at every hole and then play their next strokes with their partners ball and afterwards continue with whichever ball they nominate and thereafter strike the ball alternately during play at every hole.
